About the Strauss Canada Cup

The 2008 Strauss Canada Cup will see ten (10) men's and ten (10) women’s teams, seeded and separated in two pools, play a round robin within their pool, plus one crossover game. Tiebreakers may be required to determine the first two finishers in each pool, prior to the playoffs.

In the Page Playoff crossover, Pool A winner meets Pool B winner (winner advances to final, loser to semi-final), while the Pool A runner-up meets Pool B runner-up (winner advances to semi-final, loser eliminated).

Both the men's and women's winning teams receive:

  • $25,000 (in addition to $800 for every round robin win)
  • Berth into the 2008 Continental Cup of Curling (Camrose, AB - Dec.18-21)
  • Berth into the 2009 Strauss Canada Cup as the defending champion
  • Eligibility for the 2009 Canadian Curling Trials qualifier

Second, third and fourth place finishers for both the men and women will receive:

  • 2nd place - $15,000
  • 3rd place - $10,000
  • 4th place - $5,000

All teams will receive $800 for each round robin win.
