Benefits and Conditions of Volunteering

By applying to become a volunteer for the 2008 Tim Hortons Brier, you acknowledge and agree with the following:

  • A minimum of 20 hours of Volunteer Service (each shift is 4-5 hours long on average)
  • All accepted Volunteers are required to pay $100.00 for their Volunteer Rewards Package, payable to "2008 Tim Hortons Brier".
  • This payment will ONLY be collected at the first Volunteer Pep Rally
  • Authorization to perform a background check (including a Criminal Check)
  • Photo Identification is required at the time of Volunteer accreditation.

All accepted applicants will receive, as part of their Volunteer Rewards Package:

  • Access into MTS Centre for all Brier draws
  • Access to the Keith's Brier Patch and Purple Heart Lounge - Mar. 8-16
  • Articles of Brier clothing - appropriate for your duties
  • 2008 Tim Hortons Brier Volunteer Pin & Volunteer Handbook
  • Two Pre-Event Volunteer Pep Rallies
  • Refreshments while volunteering
  • Pre-Event discount coupon to purchase 2008 Tim Hortons Brier merchandise online
  • Invitation to the Volunteer Appreciation Party
VOLUNTEER INFORMATION
CCA FEATURED PROGRAM:
GETTING STARTED IN CURLING
This program will help you teach students the fundamentals of curling and you will guide them through various activities that take place in the classroom, the gymnasium and, finally, the curling rink. The practices and games provided in the program should give your students opportunities to learn new skills, improve their fitness, experience the enjoyment of playing on a team and have fun!
